Solutions Six Sigma software has the following facilities:

1. Process steps :

(a) Define – provides template to completely define a Six Sigma project together with plan of resolution and check list to confirm the adequacy of the Define step.

(b) Measure, Analyze and Improve – In each step project management facility is provided to plan the activities to be carried out. The progress can be monitored through Gantt chart and progress notes. Each activity of a step can be drilled down to additional three levels for detailed planning. In each step check list facility has been provided to ensure qualitative completion of the step. Wizard containing commonly used activities for each step is built in. However the users can change the activities contained in the wizard.

(c) Control – The control step contains facility to record evaluation, assessment of side effects and steps to mitigate the side effects. In addition single level standardization step is provided which has all the features stated in Measure above.

2. Tools integrated with the process:

Solutions Six Sigma has the following tools built in

(a) 7 QC tools consisting of Pareto chart, Line/Point/Bar graphs, Pie chart, Scatter diagram, Stratification, histogram, and control charts (X-R, X-S, P/C/U charts).

(b) Management tools –
The following tools are provided which are integrated with each other as well as with the process steps.

(i) Brainstorming with facility of ideas generation, capture and selection (using multi-voting, multi criteria voting, nominal group technique and force field analysis).

(ii) Process mapping with facility to define data collection format for a process, as well as activity based costing of the process.

(iii) Combination of Fish Bone Diagram and 5 Why’s technique with facility for prioritizing root causes using the OSD model of FMEA.

(iv) Sigma work sheet to calculate sigma value of a business process. The tool calculates and displays DPMO, sigma value, yield %, etc
